Team History
Danny, Eric, and Brittany Vancica founded Romaniac Racing in 2005. It is a family owned and operated team. We started out with one Super Pro Dragster and one Jr. Dragster. They were driven by Brittany and Danny Vancica. Soon after Eric decided to leave the sidelines and join in the competitive spirit. We purchased him a Super Dragster which he put a custom body on it. It’s the only one like it anywhere.
Through our hard work and endeavors we managed to impress some sponsors along the way. Since we strive ourselves in professionalism, safety and strong team spirit, our sponsors are very thrilled to be part of our team. In 2007 we managed to upgrade all of our racing equipment. Brittany got a 7.90 top of the line Jr. Dragster in which she became very competitive. Danny upgraded from Super Pro to blown alcohol Top Dragster that produced more than 1800 horsepower.
Eric got a new higher horsepower motor which put him in the upper competition bracket. At that point the team grew greatly in popularity all across the board. We are constantly growing and getting requests from other drivers on a regular basis to join our team. Everyone is welcome as long as they pass our qualification process. We built a professional web site dedicated to our team, driving endeavors, our struggles, our good times, and most important to our sponsors.
In 2009 we upgraded Danny’s Top Dragster once more with a larger more powerful and expensive engine that generate over 2200 horse power and runs at speeds in excess of 200 Mph in a quarter mile. The Dragster became a great hit with the fans.
The greatest improvement came in 2010 when Brittany at the age of 16 stepped from a Jr. Dragster that produced 50-horse power into a Super Dragster that produced over 800-horse power. She was so competitive that she went to the semifinals during her very first race. Our largest improvement came in 2010 when we upgraded across the board and took the team to a whole new level. Eric’s car got a fresh Alcohol injected engine with a fresh transmission and electronics. Danny’s got a fresh blower and carbon fiber injector, a new wrap on the car and numerous upgrades to keep key features of the Dragster.
Brittany got a new 1500 horsepower blown alcohol engine capable of producing enough force to push her to 200 mph in the quarter mile making her one of the fastest girls in this sport at the age of 17. The team gained a tractor-trailer with all the looks to attract the crowd, a custom-built 53-foot stacker trailer and all the spare parts to become extremely competitive in the 2011 season.
We are proud to announce one of our newest drivers Hailey Metzler for the 2011 season. A 8 year old young lady that is full of enthusiasm and shows no signs of fear when powering her new Jr. Dragster to the other end of the track. We have great plans and dreams for our teams’ futures, and would love nothing more than to have you join our team in our many adventures and travels. We presently have plans to take the team over seas to Romania to introduce the sport, which will make us one, the most popular teams in the country and surround area.
